How to Measure & Order the Perfect Custom Radiator Cover?

How to Measure for a Custom Radiator Cover?

Accurate Measurements for a Perfect Custom Radiator Cover Fit

Accurate measurements are essential to ensure your custom radiator cover fits perfectly, allows proper airflow, and installs without issues. Please follow the step-by-step instructions below carefully before placing your order with ArtMillwork Design.

Step 1: Measure the Exact Radiator Size

Using a tape measure, carefully measure only the radiator itself (not an existing cover).

Record the following exact dimensions:

Height – from the floor to the top of the radiator

Width – from the far left edge to the far right edge

Depth – from the wall to the front of the radiator

✏️ Important:
Write down the exact radiator measurements only.
Do not add extra inches at this stage.

Step 2: Add Required Clearance for Proper Fit

(If you have extra space available, you may add additional inches as desired.)

To ensure easy installation, proper heat circulation, and a clean professional appearance, please add the following clearances to your final submitted dimensions:

Add +1 inch to Height

Add +2 inches to Width

Add +1 inch to Depth

These added clearances allow for:

Proper airflow and heat circulation

Paint and material thickness

Smooth installation without friction

Step 3: Measurement Example

If your radiator’s exact dimensions are:

Height: 20”

Width: 20”

Depth: 10”

Your submitted order dimensions should be:

Height: 21”

Width: 22”

Depth: 11”

This ensures your custom radiator cover fits comfortably and performs as intended.

Important Measurement Notes

Measure only the radiator, not an existing cover or enclosure

Include pipes, valves, and baseboards, unless instructed otherwise

If your radiator has unusual layouts, exposed pipes, or obstructions, please contact us before ordering

Baseboard Cutouts

If your radiator area includes baseboard cutouts, we require two measurements:

Baseboard Height

Baseboard Depth

These measurements allow us to properly prepare the radiator cover for a clean, flush installation.

Windowsill & Baseboard Conditions

If your installation includes both a windowsill and a baseboard, please note:

We do not create cutouts for windowsills

Windowsill cutouts should be made on-site by a handyman or installer

This ensures:

Maximum precision

A clean, professional finish

A snug fit of the radiator cover against the wall

Pipe Cutouts

If your radiator requires pipe cutouts, please contact us by email before ordering so we can review your setup and confirm feasibility. 📧 Contact us: info@artmillworkdesign.com

Why Accurate Measurements Matter

Correct measurements allow us to craft a custom radiator cover that:

Fits seamlessly into your space

Maintains excellent airflow and heat performance

Installs easily without modifications

Delivers a refined, built-in appearance
